Day 2

Up by 8:00 am. Getting ready and heading to breakfast and on to Salzburg.

9:40 waiting for the train.  Salzburg here we come...11:30 and we finally made it out of the parking garage with the rental car!!

Made it to Salzburg, only one glich.  You need to pay a toll when leaving the outobahn and entering Austria. Oops...120 euro later...which would have been a 9 euro toll...lesson learned. No paying online after you miss the toll on Auatria!

We went to the Salzbergwerk Berchtesgaden Salt Mines. You enter by train, but to really get down in the mine you have to take a slide!!

Then we headed back into Salzburg and walked Residenz Square. This part of the world takes Easter very seriously. All the businesses, except restaurant/pubs, were closed for Good Friday and only open a short time in Saturday. This has been good for the pocketbook!!

The architecture is amazing!  Too little time to explore...I knew I should plan at least a six week trip!!!  Just need to save more pennies!!

And this pic is for my Mom and Gram - the were selling baskets of pussywillows!
